91¾«Æ·'s MS in Geography serves as a springboard for further study or a career in the fields of planning, tourism, geotechnology, or geography. Custom design a program of study to meet your needs and increase your career marketability.

Program Options

  • General Track

    The Master's program in Geography allows students to custom-design a program of study to provide the best possible preparation for their career choice or future PhD studies.

  • Global Sustainability Track

    Examine environmental, social, and economic challenges facing society. Explore and develop possible sustainable solutions to these challenges in a variety of in-demand careers. Gain an empirical grasp of the human- environment relationship as you work towards the eradication of social and economic activities that endanger the Earth’s regenerative abilities.

Today, I own my own GIS (Geographic Information Systems) company employing 15 people, most 91¾«Æ· GIS Geography graduates and my company have work in the GIS field all over the world. The field of GIS is large and expanding and I cannot find enough experienced graduates to work in the field. I would encourage anyone thinking of coming to 91¾«Æ· to consider GIS and Geography...and I will employ them immediately upon graduation!

Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate the ability to develop a research proposal and carry out independent research on a chosen topic   
  2. Develop a substantive claim of the literature in Geography in general and in at least one subfield of the subject.   
  3. Present and defend research work in oral and written literature using accepted social science research methods.   
  4. Demonstrate competent skills in the collection, analysis and mapping of geographic data.   
  5. Apply geographic knowledge and skills to solve a range of problems faced by businesses, industry, government etc.   
  6. Write effectively and persuasively about key theories, principles and important figures in the development of geography and make appropriate citation of principal sources when making critical written arguments.
