Admission Requirements

Applying for Admission

For consideration, applicants must submit the following:

  1. A completed online application with supplemental materials (ccsu.edu/apply):
    • Three current professional recommendations
    • Written essay - description of student鈥檚 motivation for advanced graduate study, past experience, and future professional goals
    • $50 application fee
  2. Official undergraduate and graduate transcripts from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (GPA of 3.00 or higher)
    • Master鈥檚 degree in counseling, psychology, MFT, social work, or related field with an overall GPA of 3.00 or higher
  3. Evidence a *completed  (LPC-A) or a  (LPC) application has been submitted to the Connecticut Department of Public Health (CT DPH), resulting in CT DPH identifying the required graduate level coursework related to the discipline of counseling that is yet to be completed to meet the LCP-A or LPC course of study requirements.
    • NOTE: Advanced Official Certificate Program (AOCP) applicants are exempt from *this AOCP application criterion if you (a) graduated from 91精品鈥檚 school counseling M.S. program in 2020 and beyond (OR) if you hold a master鈥檚 degree but are seeking AOCP admission for consideration of completing school counseling-related graduate level coursework to meet .
  4. Interview with program faculty
