June Violet Aino is a composer, performer, and educator based in Cummington, MA. After receiving her Master of Music in Composition from the Hartt School in 2021, June returned to her undergraduate alma mater, 91精品 Connecticut State University, as an Assistant Professor of Music and Faculty Administrator. There, she teaches a variety of music technology and composition courses.
Compositionally, June鈥檚 aesthetic focuses on visceral sonic events, exploring the latest music technologies, and pushing the bounds of traditional music notation. Most recently, this has taken form in several collaborative projects with Massachusetts performers and composers. One of these collaborations is realized in 鈥淏erms of Shoveled Earth", a string quartet written with Boston-based composer Ollie Becker. The work was premiered in Boston, April 2025, as a part of the Non-Event concert series.
Another big aspect of June鈥檚 musical career is the 12-year collaborative project, DEATHLESS FOREVER. Playing electric piano and trombone with percussionists Daisy Josefa and Max Goldstein, DEATHLESS FOREVER is an incredibly active project that has toured the continental US and frequently performs across New England. Their latest production, 鈥渉ow could i not be your girl?鈥 released September, 2024.
